International Women’s Day is more than just a date on the calendar—it’s a global movement that honors the resilience, achievements, and collective strength of women across all industries. In beauty and skincare, women have been at the forefront of innovation, education, and empowerment, building spaces that celebrate self-care and confidence.

As a woman in this industry, I’ve come to appreciate not only the science and artistry behind skincare but also the incredible community of women who uplift, mentor, and inspire. Today, I want to celebrate the impact of these connections and express my gratitude for the women who have helped shape True Gemini Cosmetics into what it is today.

The History of International Women’s Day & The Beauty Industry

International Women’s Day (IWD) has its roots in the early 1900s, born out of the fight for gender equality, fair wages, and the right for women to have their voices heard. Over the years, it has evolved into a global celebration of women’s contributions to every field—including beauty and wellness.

Skincare has always been more than just products; it’s an extension of self-care, culture, and personal expression. Women have passed down beauty rituals for generations, blending tradition with science to create innovative, skin-loving formulations. The industry has been shaped by powerful, passionate women—esthetician pioneers, brand founders, and community builders—who continue to redefine beauty standards and advocate for skin health.

The Power of Women in the Skincare Space

Building True Gemini Cosmetics has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life, but it hasn’t come without its challenges. What has made this journey so meaningful is the network of women who have stood beside me—mentors who offer wisdom, colleagues who support and inspire, and customers who believe in what we stand for.

The skincare industry is at its best when women uplift one another. It’s not about competition—it’s about community. I’ve been fortunate to learn from and work alongside some truly remarkable women who share the same passion for skin health, education, and holistic wellness.

I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to the incredible women who have played a role in my journey:

Katey from Mindful Beauty, Nicole from Wildflower Spa, and Hayley (The Therapeutic Skin Coach) – Thank you for your guidance, knowledge, and passion for holistic skin health. Your work continues to inspire me and so many others.
